What is MP3?
MP3 is an audio compression codec that allows users to compress songs, speeches, and sounds dramatically without noticeable loss of quality. MP3 stands for Motion Picture Experts Group Audio Layer 3 (MPEG Audio Layer 3), and because its ability to compress songs, it became de facto standard for music distribution over the web.

How does MP3 work?
Actually, it's quite simple (in concept, that is). What MP3 codec does, is that it gets rid of parts of audio that you and I cannot hear. Our human ears are quite limited in that after hearing something loud, you can't hear quiet sound for short period of time. MP3 codec calculates and deletes that part. This is how MP3 achieves its great compression ratio without the apparent quality loss.

How can I download your MP3s?
After you have purchased your MP3 downloads you will be sent an email with a link to download your files. Please click on the link on the web page and you will be promted for a place to save and then download your files.

How do your file names work?
MP3 files are named by album and it's corresponding track number. So when you buy track 2 of Finlay MacDonald's 'Pressed for Time' the file is called 02 - Pressed For Time.mp3. This all make sense until a track is in our downloads chart. If track 2 of Pressed for Time is at number 10 in the chart, the file is still called 02 - Pressed For Time.mp3. We apologise for this confusion.

How do I play MP3s?
There are a number of MP3 players out there, from software that runs on your computer to hand-held portable MP3 players. I personally use WinAmp, but there are a lot of other good MP3 players as well.

Why are your prices in US Dollars?
Quite simply - the software we are using will not let us use UK Sterling. We plan in the next few months to get this sorted out but in the meanwhile we reduced our prices to compensate.

How many times can I download the files?
You can download the files up to 5 times over 7 days.

What happens if I loose my email link?
Please contact us and we will resend the link.

How do I sell my tracks on AYEPOD.NET?
